GIRL IN THE RED CORNER is a feature-length film about Halo - a single mother struggling in a fading factory town - who begins training in MMA. As her first match approaches, she realizes how life inside the cage and outside are disturbingly similar, and the only way to survive either is to fight.
GIRL IN THE RED CORNER is based on the play by the same name that premiered in Washington DC last year, which was written by Stephen Spotswood and directed by Amber McGinnis. The play went on to win the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding New Play. The screenplay was a semifinalist in the 2018 Sundance Writer’s Lab and Austin Film Festival.
